Cultivated primarily in Jamaica, it gets its name from its distinctive, squat shape resembling a Scottish Tam o' Shanter hat. It is between 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville units. It is highly volatile, delivering heat similar to a habanero, but finishes with a highly sought-after sweetness.

Daniel is a US Navy disabled veteran and retired mapmaker. Stacy is a professional printmaker. Our aim is to grow heirlooms and unusual varieties that cannot be found in grocery stores. We’re growing vegetables from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello farm, specimen figs, fruits once carried by Johnny Appleseed, medicinal and culinary herbs, chestnuts and hazelnuts, and glorious peonies and cut flowers on a 28 acre farm on Sand Mountain.
